OK. Well ive been told that i have to choose between figure skating and soccer. I love both sports so much!
Ive been figure skating since i was like 3, and done soccer since i was 5. When i was little in figure skating i would go to the local arena a take the kid lessons, but you see i was learning way faster then the other kids and would go up levels really fast. So one day one of the coaches told my mom that i should go to this one guy coach. She thought i would do better with him because he was an Olympic one, so i started with him when i was 4 1/2 . But when we moved back to the us i went into this one club and its like a really good one, so im pretty much matched up with everyone else my age ( on levels). Im Juvenile free and intermediate moves. Testing for the next level up on both free and moves in the future. Long term for my skating ive decided that i want to be a fs senior gold medalist. Me and my coach made a plan for me to reach senior fs level by 11th grade. But of course reach senior moves, i don’t know when but i will. I don’t know if i will do well compared to other skaters because it seems that their getting younger and better and a REEALLYYY want to win, because im really competitive.
For soccer right now though i am on the C1 team and have recently played up in a premier tournament. Every time i play up the coach is always like thank you so much! Your such a good player! and its not just to be polite because he always requests me when they need players and doesn’t ask anyone else on my team. He has before but no offense i can tell that im doing better then my team mate playing up also, so he just asks me .The coach sees that so i play up ALL THE TIME. On the team i play up on i bounce around in positions like every were but i have found that i do good playing forward. On my team i ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS play defence it’s either left D of left inside. But only twice this year i’ve played left mid-field, at the end of the game, if the circumstances are right. My kicks are really good for my age, im in my teens and when kick the ball i can kick it from the goal line to more then the half line. Which is a reason i guess that i play deffence on my team because i really just kick the ball up to the top forwards or switch fields by kicking it to the other side. On my regular team, im kinda under appreciated. So my dad’s saying that i should try out for the older team that i play up on. For the future if i don’t know what i will do. Maybe olympics? Maybe womens US team. Im not sure what i’d do for soccer in the future but im sure with my future for skating.
So i have to choose! Both sports are just so fun! I love both equally because im good at them. They both work together , soccer season helps skating from running and making my legs stronger. Skating helps my soccer by being fast and lasting longer running (from power class) oh and fast footwork to! I would love to do both but figure skating is very demanding if you want to be a really good skater and if i keep doing soccer and get really good i cant travel around the world but i would be tough to find rinks to skate at and my FS coach would have to travel to. But my dad ( who loves my soccer more because it costs less and my immediate family does alot for it like managing and coaching and stuff. and im the best player in the family) says that i could get a scholarship for college for soccer, and says it looks good on my record. BUT i told my coach about the college record thing and she that being a figure skater looks better because not alot of people can do it.
UGH! I don’t know what to do!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!! I can’t follow my heart because i love both but don’t know what to do!
