I’m a little ignorant about soccer, but I watched a replay in which one team allowed another team to score with no resistance. Apparently a player was hurt on a play before and tried to kick the ball out of bounds, but Team Ascoli intercepted the ball and scored the goal. Then Ascoli allows them to score a free goal, can someone explain this team me? In any other sport in a player is down, then the other team keeps going.

Ascoli was being nice for taking advantage of their injured player. They were just allowing Reggina to score a goal to even it up. It was purely an act of compassion. This would never happen in another game. They would recognize that a player was hurt and allow the ball to leave the pitch, thereby allowing the injured player to receive medical aide.
